FLOOR CONCEPTS

Bring a striking architectural feel to every project. Increasingly, building owners, architects and interior designers are turning to polished concrete – not your old industrial grade of concrete floor – but a new generation of decoratively polished concrete that is perfectly suited to today’s high-traffic retail, commercial, industrial and residential spaces. When properly finished, polished concrete can be spectacularly beautiful, cost-effective to install and easy to maintain.

LUMA FLOORS' polishing concepts allow more freedom of choice. This means you can choose between a floor with light or heavy aggregate exposure; or between a floor with a matt or high gloss finish, for example.

exposure

CONCEPT ONE – Produces the highest gloss finish. It involves more grinding stages than the other concepts, resulting in full aggregate exposure. The result is an unbeatably durable floor. The high gloss surface reflects light gently off the floor, reducing the level of overhead lighting required.

CONCEPT TWO – Here we do not grind as deeply into the concrete surface as is required with ONE. This means that less stone or aggregate is exposed. The TWO concept then involves polishing the floor to achieve a gloss that is almost as brilliant as the ONE finish. TWO is ideal for concrete floors that are already even and level.

CONCEPT THREE – The concept with the least number of grinding and polishing phases. This concept does not involve exposing the construction concrete; instead, the top layer of the surface paste is polished but not removed. The process creates a strong surface paste with a medium shine finish.
